Plane Simple Travel

Angelica has launched a Facebook page aimed at black and ethnic individuals who wish to travel around the world on a BUDGET!

She has recently returned from China, 7 months travelling around South East Asia and northern Asia. Whilst traveling she rarely saw other ethnic backpackers, especially black people. She thought it was a huge shame that the ethnic community was not taking advantage of this big wide world. That is how she came up with the idea of starting this Facebook page.

Her main aim is to give great travel deals to black and ethnic individuals or anyone with an interest in traveling; enabling them to experience a different culture, broaden one’s mind and experience a new way of life. Traveling has so many positives!

Plane Simple Travel is a travel page aiming to create awareness and provide a service for people who wish to see the world on a budget. We traveled through South East Asia and Northern Asia on a very small budget and managed to see 9 counties for 7 months. We would like others who think they could never see the world due to small funds to join our page, see our deals and take advantage of them!

“Americans Coming Together” – 2012 Democratic National Convention

My Swede’s good friend asked me why I thought it was important to attend the Democratic National Convention. I got the feeling that he thought it was a bit over the top and didn’t understand a delegate’s roll or why I would travel so far just to wave an American flag.

I answered that it was not only an honor to go and represent Americans living abroad as we cast our votes to nominate President Obama and Vice President Biden to run for a second term, but it was my duty to be active in a political system that for years excluded women and blacks. It was my duty to be vigilant as certain forces move now to enact voter laws that would restrict the participation of many including students, the elderly, the poor and others without ID thought would be acceptable as proof of identity to vote.

I answered that it was my duty to engage Americans overseas and in the US to register and vote against those who would deny you health care, a women’s right to choose about her body, have blocked legislation such at the Jobs Act, or opposed the right of gays to openly serve in the military. The list is long. But my mission is clear: Get Out The Vote! And vote informed. What kind of America do you want?

Vote Adrianne George for EMEA DNC Delegate 2012

It would be a privilege to represent Americans living abroad at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte next September. My video explains why.

If you haven't already, please view my delegate campaign video on the left explaining why I wanted to be a delegate. Being elected a delegate to represent Democrats Abroad at the Democratic National Convention is a big honor and I am thrilled to be able to participate in this way. Now I need your help to cover the cost of being a delegate.

Convention delegates have to pay their own transportation to Charlotte, for their hotels rooms, food and other incidentals. For me that means:

- Round trip airfare from Stockholm to Charlotte ($1,074.20)
- Hotel ($650.00)
- Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) weekly card ($17.50)
- Estimated food ($175.00)
- Estimated WiFi/Internet/Mobile phone access ($100)

I support the Democratic Party for many reasons. Here are just a few issues Democrats support that are important to me:

Civil Rights Act and the right to vote;
Affordable Health Care Act;
Immigration Reform; and
Gays serving in the military.

Visit the Democratic Party website for more information.

I will be forever grateful for you helping me fund my trip to the convention. Thank you for your support and sharing your generosity with me!

MaShiAat (Queen Mother) of the Kindred of ShiEndra

Oloya Maati Philae’ Adedapoidle Tyehimba-Ford carries the title of MaShiAat (Queen Mother), and is co-founder and presiding Queen Mother of our local California Temple and Spiritual organization, The Kindred of ShiEndra and founding Mother and Spiritual Leader of a conglomeration of affiliated Temples within the Kindred of ShiEndra and the Grand Temple of Divine to include a Kemetic community in Egypt/Africa.

The Kindred of ShiEndra is a legal and active 501© 3 matriarchal/matrilineal Temple and Spiritual community based on the spiritual morality and universal concepts of the Kemetic (Pre-Egyptian) pantheon. MaShiAat is co-founder of the Kephra Holistic Institute and co-creator of the Kephric Transformational Platform both dedicated to the concepts of complete wellness through holistic, indigenous, and naturopathic modalities. MaShiAat Oloya is an ordained IyaNifa and Initiated priest of Oya and Esu in the Ifa tradition and is the third daughter ordained by Z Budapest as High Priestess within the original Dianic lineage of the Wiccan Goddess/Great Mother tradition.
